October Dome

Recent Update

In September 2013, Bearing commenced a 1,000m drill program at October Dome to follow up on its 2012 drill program where a 400 metre strike length of a 4,000 metre long gold and copper in soil and chargeability anomaly was tested. All holes encountered potassic and propylitic altered intrusives, indicative of an akalic-style porphyry copper system with elevated gold and copper values (refer to the Company's news release dated November 8, 2012).

Overview

The October Dome target is defined by a grid area of some 3.2 kilometres by 1.2 kilometres that has been surveyed by magnetic and induced polarization ("IP") surveys and soil geochemistry. The geophysical programs were conducted in 2006 and 2009 and the soil sampling programs in 2009 and 2010. Work has successfully identified a continuous and open ended gold and copper (+/- arsenic) in soil anomaly that extends for the full 3 kilometre length of the grid. Peak areas of enhanced gold coincide with extensive high IP chargeability anomalies. The October Dome property is contiguous with both Imperial Metals Corporation's Mount Polley porphyry copper-gold mine property 10 kilometres to the south and Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd.'s QR skarn gold mine property 7 kilometres to the northwest.

Location & Access

The October Dome Property is located in the Cariboo Mining Division of British Columbia and covers the southern bank of the Quesnel River, 6 km west of the town of Likely (Figure 4-1). The Property is located at 589638 m E and 5833544 m N, (WGS 84, Zone 10) on NTS map sheet 092A/12. The Property is easily accessible by 85 km paved road from Williams Lake and the Mount Polley Mine road and various logging and mining exploration roads in the area. Williams Lake is the major supply and service center in the area and can be reached by a 6 hour drive from Vancouver or by scheduled flights from Vancouver or other BC cities.

The City of Williams Lake is a major service centre for logging and mining. The area has undergone substantial exploration and several mines have produced in the past. The mine of primary interest is, of course, the Mount Polley Mine which lies less than 3.4 km from the Property. It has a mill capable of processing 20,000 tonnes of ore per day capacity and has attendant services such as B.C. Hydro power and water. The area including the centers of Williams Lake, Quesnel and McLeese Lake have large work forces of experienced miners, mill men and exploration people. As the area has been the focus of several mines (underground and open-pit) and numerous exploration programs, which have been permitted with relative ease, exploration and mine permitting is not anticipated to be problematic.

Geology

Mineral deposits within the Quesnel Terrane are mainly "Alkalic Porphyry Cu-Au deposits" such as the Mt. Polley Deposit located 3.4 km south of the October Dome Property. These deposits generally formed during the Lower Jurassic and are genetically related to alkalic plutonism and volcanism occurring at that time. A variation of this type of deposit is that of the QR Deposit located 4 km to the northwest of the October Dome property, which is a gold-enriched skarn deposit with only low grade copper mineralization. The principal exploration target on the October Dome Property is Alkalic Porphyry Cu-Au deposit either similar to the copper dominated (Mt Polley-type), or the gold-bearing alteration zones in volcanicsedimentary rocks peripheral to alkalic intrusions (QR-type). These deposits are typically associated with alkalic intrusive bodies which have a distinctive anomalously high magnetic signature due to magnetite alteration mineral assemblages that occur within and surrounding them. Exploration for these types of deposits is further aided by ground geophysics such as Induced-Polarization ("IP") surveys, as mineralization and disseminated sulphide minerals within the hydrothermal alteration package is often associated with chargeability highs. Additionally, geochemical soil surveys are also very successful in this area of British Columbia in identifying areas of anomalous gold and copper over deposits.
